Side Match Schedule for 2006
January: Derringer, 2 rounds. Shooter starts with derringer in hand, muzzle resting on table, two rounds loaded. At the beep shooter cocks hammer and fires at 5 yard target, recocks and shoots again. Fastest time with fewest misses, wins.
February: Speed rifle, 10 rounds. Shooter starts with rifle in hand at the hip pointed down range. 10 rounds loaded. At the beep, shooter shoots single rifle target as fast as possible. Fastest time with fewest misses wins.
March: Speed pistol, 10 rounds. Shooter starts with pistol in holster, 5 rounds loaded. At the beep, shooter draws first pistol and shoots single pistol target, holsters first pistol, draws second pistol and shoots 5 more into same single pistol target. Fastest time with fewest misses wins.
April: Pocket pistol, 5 rounds. Shooter starts with pistol in hand, 5 rounds loaded, muzzle resting on table. At the beep, shooter shoots single pistol target as fast as possible. Fastest time with fewest misses, wins.
May: Shotgun clays. Shooter starts with shotgun in hand at port arms, one round loaded. Shooter calls pull, and first clay will be thrown, shooter will engage clay. Shooter loads another single round and calls pull, and shoots thrown clay. Shooter continues one round at a time until he/she misses. Shooter with most number of hits is the winner. (Note: If Clay is Broken when thrown, the shooter will engage as normal, but will not be charged a miss because of the sometimes erratic nature of the clay when exiting the thrower.)
June: Long range Rifle, pistol cal. 10 rounds. Shooter starts with rifle in hand, 10 rounds loaded. At the beep, shooter engages 100 yard target. Fastest time with fewest misses wins.
July: Long Range pistol, 10 rounds. Shooter starts with both pistols holstered, 5 rounds loaded in each. At the beep, shooter draws first pistol and engages single pistol target 5 times. Holstering first pistol, shooter draws second pistol and engages single target again. Shooter with fastest time and fewest misses, wins.
August: Black Powder Single shot Rifle, 3 shots. Shooter starts with rifle in hand, loading componants on table in front of shooter. At the beep, shooter loads one round and engages 50 yard target. Shooter then re-loads and shoots 100 yard target. Shooter loads a third round and fires last shot at the 100 yard target. Shooter with fastest time and fewest misses, wins.
September: Single Shot, rifle Calibre. 5 Rounds. Shooter starts with rounds on table, rifle empty. One spotter round is allowed. At the beep, shooter loads one round and fires at target. Shooter re-loads and fires at target. Shooter re-loads and fires at right hand peacock target. Shooter reloads and repeats process two more times. Shooter with fastest time and fewest misses, wins.
October: Speed shotgun, 8 rounds. Shooter starts with shotgun in hand, two clay throwers are loaded with clays. When the shooter is ready, the RO will direct the shooter to load two rounds in the shotgun. At the beep, the shooter will engage the first shotgun knockdown and engage the clay with the second shot. Shooter re-loads and engages second target and clay. Shooter then re-loads and engages shotgun spinner with next four rounds, alternating shots on each side of shotgun spinner. Shooter with fastest time and fewest misses, wins.
November: Josey Wales, 4 pistols, 20 rounds. Two pistols staged, two pistols holstered. At the buzzer, sweep pistol targets left to right 4 times. Fastest time with fewest misses wins.
December: Long range rifle, rifle calibre. 5 rounds, at the buzzer the shooter will engage the 100 yard target 5 times, most hits with fewest misses wins.
